The Partnership Against Child Exploitation (PACE) was a ground-breaking partnership of private sector, academic, media development and civil society organisations working together to combat the exploitation of children in the worst forms of child labor. PACE is one of the first partnerships of its kind, bringing together international NGOs, the private sector, a world renowned university, a corporate foundation and media development agency to tackle one of the world’s most pressing and complex development issues. PACE was a holistic multifaceted programme designed to identify the most effective strategies for combating the worst forms of child labor across four main areas of work. PACE was active in the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ethiopia, supporting children who have been recruited into armed groups, child sexual exploitation, forced labour or hazardous work.

The PACE consortium consisted of:

  • Child focused international NGOs (War Child & World Vision);
  • Niche organisations addressing child labor in supply chains in conjunction with the private sector (UN Global Compact Network & FiftyEight);
  • A media organisation with legal and digital expertise (Thomson Reuters Foundation); and
  • A research partner (Columbia University through the Care and Protection of Children Network)

PACE concluded its work in 2022 and the CPC Learning Network secretariat accepted stewardship of the resources and learning products produced through the partnership, which are available to browse below.
